The people of Capernaum were privileged in that they had seen Jesus’ mighty works and had heard his sermons. In spite of all this, they did not repent The Sodomites, on the other hand, were not as responsible for their sins since they had been destroyed without having heard the Gospel or having had an opportunity to repent.
