"I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."  Colossians 2:2-3 NLT

"Behold the Lamb of God!"- John 1:36

God uses picture language throughout the Bible. Here he calls Jesus a lamb. Lambs are obedient, and they look to their shepherds to lead and care for them. Let us try to live our lives in the way Jesus would, as nearly as possible. We take our lessons from what he said and did and learn from the instructions he gave us through the apostles’ writings, trying to call attention to Jesus, and not to ourselves. 1 Peter 1:12

Let us walk honestly, as in the day. (Romans 13:13)

EACH one should see to it that he is honest, not only in matters of dollars and cents, but honest in his treatment of his neighbors, in his treatment of the brethren, and above all, honest in his confessions respecting his God and his faith. The test is being made along this line, and those who love the favor of men rather than the favor of God, and who dishonestly are willing to confess and profess a lie, will be given up to their lie, will be permitted to blight their eternal interests, will be proving themselves unfit for the Kingdom--whatever else they may ultimately become fit for.

And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil. Matthew 25:8

NONE can get too much of this Holy Spirit, none can secure an oversupply for his own use so that he could supply others from his abundance. The Bridegroom has made in advance abundant provision by which all those who are invited to go in with him to the marriage may be properly equipped, not only with robes and lamps, but also with the oil; and if any are careless in the procurement of the oil, they thus indicate their unfitness to be of the class who are to enter with the Bridegroom before the door is shut. This is the essence of the Lord's instruction by this parable-- that those who hope to enter into the kingdom and share its glories with him must expect to make preparation in advance. If they wait until the moment for the door to close, however willing they may be, however anxious, they will not be prepared--the preparation requires time, patience, care.
