"I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."  Colossians 2:2-3 NLT

"When I am weak, then am strong."- 2 Corinthians 12:10

Being weak means recognizing our imperfections and shortcomings. When we are fully loyal to the LORD, we feel these weaknesses keenly. Our strength comes from relying upon God and his dear Son for help and guidance. 2 Corinthians 13:14

Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue. (fortitude). (2 Peter 1:5)

ONE great difficulty with the Lord's people is that, even when determined for a right course and thus resisting the temptation, they do not take sufficiently positive action. Many say to the tempter, I have concluded not to yield at this time. Thus they leave in their own minds an opportunity open by which the tempter may return. Our Lord's course was the proper one: we should dismiss the tempter once and forever. We should take our stand so firmly that even the adversary would not think it worth while to come back at us along that line; "Leave me, adversary-- I will worship and serve my God alone."

And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Acts 11:21

THE word hand as a symbol signifies power and direction. Here we have the true secret of all successful Christian work which will have the divine approval. Each individual Christian, so to speak, is a finger of the Lord. If we would be used and useful as God's agencies, ambassadors, we should seek to be impulsed and guided by him. We are to hear his voice through the Scriptures and we are to realize his energizing power in the spirit of the truth. Nor are we to gauge the success of our endeavors by the great numbers, as in this case, which was quite exceptional. We should, however, expect some fruitage to our labors, and if peradventure, by unwisdom in our methods of presenting the message we have lost our influence as "ambassadors for God," we should seek to appreciate the lesson of greater wisdom and should look to the Lord for an open door to service along some other lines or in some other place, where our lessons of experience could be put to practical effect.
