When men die, do they come back as another human being? As an animal?
Does man have a spirit or soul that can enter into other beings?
What is the difference between reincarnation and resurrection?
The FREE 28-page booklet "Reincarnation versus Resurrection" presents the Bible’s answer to these questions.
The Bible says that “the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything.” (Eccel. 9:5) “There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” (Eccel. 9:10) When a man dies, “his breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” — Psa. 146:2
However, Satan told Eve in the garden of Eden that if she ate the fruit of the forbidden tree, she would not die. That was a lie. Since that time, the lie that man does not really die continues. This falsehood has made its appearance in many forms – man has an immortal soul; at death man’s spirit goes to inhabit another being or an animal.
The Bible testimony on death is very clear, When a man dies, his breath or right to life returns to God who gave it and the body returns to the earth. At death, man, who was created a living soul, ceases to exist. — Gen. 2:7
Man’s hope for the future is that God will raise him from the dead. Jesus said “Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.” — John 5:28-29 RSV
